My son has been with KIC for over 3 years, and he has made friends with other children and staff. I never worry once I drop him off and he is happy when I pick him up. Happy yes to see me, but happy as he had had fun. Staff give great feedback and encourage independence. Well done to great service, keep up the good work.

The manager and the staff are amazing...went for an interview and felt so welcome from the moment I walked in. Such a great place. The children were lovely too, very chatty and happy.

My son uses KIC for breakfast club, after school club & summer club. He has a great time; they offer the children so much to do. I struggle to get him to leave at pick up!

Our son has been attending KIC breakfast and after school club for 5 years now and he thoroughly enjoys every minute! It is a great relief as working parents to know that our son is in safe hands and is cared for so well during his time in the club sessions. We are grateful too for how hard the adults work and all the fun activities they prepare and lay out for the children. KIC has been such an invaluable service for us. Thank you so much!

My Son has been attending KIC since September and attended his first Holiday Club over Easter. He really enjoys KIC. The staff are kind and attentive and the holiday club, in particular, seems to have a great range of activities. Every day he seemed to bring home the fruits of his creative labours: lava lamps, tie-dye t-shirts etc. On top of that, there seemed to be plenty of fresh air and outdoor activity. All in all, he had a great time at holiday club and I would really recommend it.

Ofsted has rated our club at GILBERT COLVIN as “OUTSTANDING”. Kids In Charge has a good relationship with the Gilbert Colvin School and run the club from the dining hall and the gym of the school.

The children are also able to use the outdoor facilities to play. The children enjoy playing with the huge tyres on the playing field running races and doing mini Olympics as well as eating their snack by the fountain on a sunny afternoon chatting to friends.

Here at Gilbert Colvin cooking is a firm favourite with both boys and girls and the children often bake to raise money for charity too.

The children and staff at Gilbert Colvin school enjoy warm relationships. The children are encouraged to challenge themselves with the weekly challenge and they encourage each other to beat their own scores in these challenges. Soon after arrival children are able to enjoy a healthy snack daily. children enjoy the range of foods that are from a menu prepared from suggestions children have made.

All food is prepared on site by staff who have been trained to Level 2 in Food Hygiene. Children can be collected from Park-hill* school then walk the short distance with staff to Gilbert Colvin Primary School. * minimum number required.

Children enjoy opportunities to develop their cooking and art skills with the weekly one hour clubs run at Gilbert Colvin After school club .

There are lots of craft making activities on offer at the club and children enjoy working with clay, sewing as well as painting. The children at Gilbert Colvin after school club enjoy role play immensely and can often be seen dressing up and developing character’s and scenes. The spacious hall and access to all the outside areas offer children excellent space to ‘chilax’ as well as let off steam .

Whether a child wants to rest and curl up in a cosy corner after a tiring day or has felt confined and wants to leap about in the physical area there is a place for them at Kids In Charge after school club.

The friendly staff will learn very quickly about your child and plan to support with the social development as well as academic areas.

Homework session for all children and reading session for all children is scheduled once per week with support. Staff listen to children reading their school books and can support the younger children with writing and early number work on request.

Whatever the need our staff are happy and willing to support so feel free to ask.
